Our story
businesswithoutboundaries exists because too many good business ideas don’t get the backing they deserve – not for lack of merit, but because of where the founder lives, their circumstances, or a lack of financial means.
Background
Our support recommendations are grounded in concrete evidence and structured research into what disadvantage in small business really looks like, and what actually helps.
Direct support for disadvantaged small businesses is where we concentrate regardless of where in the world you might be.

Purpose
businesswithoutboundaries works on:
- Research into what genuinely helps disadvantaged founders – people cut off by geography, circumstance or poverty – get a fair shot at building a business.
- Helping the relationships around a founder – staff, mentors, delivery partners, funders – take root and actually work, based on knowledge about what “helping” should look like.
- Hosting events and conversations that bridge disadvantaged founders, the organisations that support them, and the policymakers who can shape things at scale.
- Making the public case for the contribution these founders could make, once the barriers in front of them are properly understood.
- Working with the business support sector – advisors, agencies and programmes – to raise the quality of the input they give small businesses, not just its availability.
Our aim
To help people who are locked out of business opportunity — wherever they are — build the skills, confidence and support networks to create change.
Our long-term goals
- Helping relieve poverty by tackling the barriers that keep people out of business.
- Promoting quality education, training and retraining, with practical routes into business.
What that could look like
- Publishing research that keeps this grounded in real need.
- Advice and support for those looking to upskill.
It’s the implementation of knowledge that creates change
